The MBA programme of the Faculty of Business Administration received the prestigious AMBA accreditation

International accreditation AMBA is considered the world’s most important accreditation in the field of MBA studies. So far, worldwide only 286 of the best business schools has received it, such as the University of St. Gallen or HEC Paris. The faculty has been conferred with AMBA accreditation as the only such institute in the Czech Republic.

“I believe that receiving the AMBA accreditation will significantly clarify the confusing market of MBA programmes in the Czech Republic,” says Prof. Ivan Nový, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. “Also, we appreciate it very much because the faculty sees executive education as one of its priorities. Last year, for example, we opened a new Doctor of Business Administration programme, which, like the MBA programme, is intended primarily for managers,” he adds.

The annual accreditation process was completed in the last week of January of this year with a visit of the Accreditation Commission represented by Prof. Wendy Loretto, Dean of the University of Edinburgh Business School, Prof. Jorg Bley, Dean of Suzhou International Business School, Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, Prof. Tomasz Ludwicki, University of Warsaw, and George Iliev, AMBA. In its evaluation, the commission highlighted in particular the good management of the programme and the international diversity of the study groups. Based on feedback from students and graduates the commission also appreciated the significant connection between the programme and business and corporate practice.

The faculty received AMBA accreditation for three years. “I am very pleased that we have managed to meet the demanding accreditation criteria and glad to be able to offer our current and future students quality and relevant executive education that will stand up to its international competition. There is no greater appreciation in the global market for MBA programmes,” says Dr Markéta Dianová, Executive Director of the MBA programme at the Faculty of Business Administration.

Rigorous accreditation criteria and assessment process ensure that only programmes that demonstrate the highest standards in teaching, learning and curriculum design and career development and employability achieve AMBA accreditation. The evaluation is based on information from various stakeholders, such as faculty staff, students and graduates or employers.

Association of MBAs accreditation (AMBA) is a multinational accreditation body that was founded in 1967 in the United Kingdom, which brings together MBA students and graduates, accredited schools and employers worldwide. The AMBA accreditation is the global standard for all MBA, DBA and Master’s degrees, currently accrediting programmes from the top 2% of Business Schools in more than 75 countries.
